esther

jade and i finished reading through esther together on sunday. it's such an super super book of the bible!

queen esther and mordecai are definitely role models for us. they stood by their faith and beliefs and perservered through difficult times. the evil vile haman abused his power as being second in command to the king and hated the jews so much that he wanted to kill them off all in one day. but mordecai refused to just sit around and do nothing. so he waited outside the king's gates and got esther to work from within the king's palace.

at the end of esther, we see how smooth and timely God's work was. mordecai was recognised for his loyalty to the kingdom, esther found favour in the king and haman was brought to justice. yippee! just an amazing outcome. mordecai takes haman's position but still remains a humble servant for his God and his people.

"Mordecai the Jew was pre-eminent among the Jews, and held in high esteem by his many fellow Jews, because he worked for the good of his people and spoke up for the welfare of all the Jews."
esther 10:3

meanwhile, joe has made it to youtube! haha. and so has warren! if you're reading this sheryl, tell me if you don't want his song publicly available on the internet. and that photo cd is coming! i promise!! =)

housegroup was really good tonight. as well as jade's surprise, dan did a 'seminar' on worship.

"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in spirit and in truth."
john 4:23-24

worship requires a remembrance of God's mercy.
worship requires an offering of our bodies to God.
worship involves an obedience to God's will in all parts of life.
