udner the sea

hahahha how funny are the street markets? where everything is spelt wrongly. i got a tshirt that said "udner the sea" and i bought it. also, today i was at church, and i saw this guy wearing a jacket that said "Caca Cola - Cake".

anyway... the reason for this post is to say that i'll be in china till dec 31. im going to shanghai tomorrow and then onto beijing. and teeso..moore shopping to come! yay! i need to buy more warm clothes.. cos i'm quite lacking. apparently beijing weather can go down to minus 13 degrees.

and theeeen i'm coming BACK to hong kong. and then singapore. and then malaysia. =)

hmm i have to leave now.. my parents are like asleep and the only light on in the room is the one coming from this screen. so tata! and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Sunday, December 25

hi hi puffy ami yumi!

ho ho ho! MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!! =D even though technically it's five minutes from christmas here in hong kong. my goodness. the crowds in hong kong are INSANE! we went to tsu sham shui and there were soo many people there.

yayy!! its christmas now! well... that was slightly anti-climactic. hm.. anyway.

on thursday, i went to the hong kong museum of history and it was really quite well done! i took a LOT of photos too. but they're probably too uninteresting to post here.. so i won't.

on friday, i went to this place called harmony house. it's basically a shelter for families who have been victims of domestic violence. it was organised by so
me of my dad's colleagues and it was quite fun. i wasn't allowed to take photos of the kids in case the fathers like recognised them or something. which is fair enough. but it was great! except that i couldn't understand what anyone was saying cos it was all in cantonese hahahaa. i got to yell out "one, two.. three!" to see which kid put their hand up first to win a present. hehe.. yeh.

friday night i went to see king kong again with my family and we got rea
lly bad seats! never again! three hours of bending my neck back to see the screen was a rather traumatic experience. hahahah i love all the corny lines in that movie though.
"when fate snatches it away.."

"it was always going to be you."
"that's all there is. there isn't anymore."
"it wasn't planes that killed him. it was beauty killed the beast."
hahahaha.. how amused i am.

so today, i went to lunch with my bro and his friend.. i w
ent shopping a bit.. and then went out for dinner.. which took a while to get to cos of all the crowds.. and uh.. that's it. there isn't anymore. i'm a bit tired and my folks want me out of their room.

the crowds:
the yummy dessert at pacific place:

anyway.. have a verry jolly christmas! =)
love,
kim. xox
ps. can u believe i'm watching the frighteners? hahaha i was so scared of it when i was young. hahahaha oh my, it's so not scary.
pps. don't forget the real reason for the season! yay for Jesus!
ppps. happy shopping for boxing day! i'll be in shanghai!

sheep of his pasture

Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
psalm 100:3

i *heart* disney

i love being a big kid. it's so much fun! i get to enjoy hong kong disneyland even though it's at least a quarter of the size of the disneyland in LA. it seriously is rather small, but we made our own fun, me and tori. we had to be the craziest and most enthusiastic people there! we went insane. i love being stupid in a foreign country! it's the best! hahaa.

i tried to find a disney video code online but this is the only one i could get that's like not some dodgy home video of a parade in disneyland haha. i love this song though! but the movie version is better. they always are. well.. hope it helps with setting the mood hehe.

we both got a photo/autograph book so we tried to meet as many characters as we could. but we only got to a few. we just missed out on meeting cinderella!!! it was so lame. they stopped people from queuing up! but i did get to photos with belle, alice (in wonderland), pooh and tigger, chip n dale, timon aaaaaand i think that was it. or was it?

oh it was so much fun! we went to all these shows where they had the songs and stuf. the philharmagic one was the best. it was 3D and we got to wear those ever so fashionable glasses. we saw the lion king "theatre on the wild" (haha get it?) and "the golden mickeys" (this one took me a while to get) which was in CANTONESE! except for the singing. that was in english thank goodness.

the funnest ride was probably the mad hatter's tea cups just cos its crraazzeee! u go round and round in circles and by the end i'm like laughing insanely and wheeee it's just so fun! i think we were the only ones (apart from very small, young children) who were amused by it. we went on it three times.

so yeh. all in all, it was heaps of funnESS. and i bought some merchandise. ohhh some of the soft toys were soo cute!! but were too expensive to buy. =| i got an eeyore keyring though. hehe soo cute. but disappointingly, the shops in hk disneyland was a lot smaller and they didn't have as vast a collection as LA did. they focussed so much on mickey, minnie, goofy, pluto, daffy, pooh, tigger, piglet and eeyore and didn't really have much on the rest of the characters. which was a real shame cos i would've bought some. sorry josh, no mike. =(

hmmm... anyway we got home from disneyland at like 10pmish (monday) and was just so tired that we slept until almost midday the next day (tuesday)! i went to some markets on fa yuen street today which were pretty interesting. dirty but cheap. i cannot believe that lady was selling CHICKENS! like REAL ones. i told tori to take a photo for me but the lady was like "no photo!" so i was sad. i bought a few things.. some of which are pretty useless. like bunny ear clips. hahahh i'll take a photo of them so you can see. hahaha they're cute! then we went to mong kok which wasn't nearly as exciting as i was expecting.

then we decided to go see a movie in times square - KING KONG. we had mcdonalds before the movie just to see if it was any different (with any asian influence) but it was rather much the same. i actually liked king kong. although there were several unnecessarily extended scenes like the ones with dinosaurs. what was with that? seriously! dinosaurs?! but it was a good film. and it didn't seem that long at all! i didn't even realise three hours had been up. i think i just have a thing for long movies. hahah. also jack black wasn't that annoying and and overall-ness of the movie was... nice. gosh, my vocabulary has really gone down the drain since hsc finished. in fact, i don't think it was awfully extensive before. haha oh well. i only got uni ahead of me. =S go peter jeckson!

anyway, i have probably gone on for too long and if you've read till this far, CONGRATULATIONS! i am now going to err... i don't know. maybe sleep. or watch tv. goodnight! and hope all your holidays are great!

with disney love from hk,
kimpossible! hahaha. =D

Sunday, December 18

asians are like ants.

i'm finally in hong kong! and there are asians EVERYWHERE! and because they mostly all wear black, they seriously DO look like ants! especially from looking down from a very high floor. hahaha they do! i was just watching the news on tv.. and the riots are looking pretty bad. all that pepper spray and barracades, umbrellas and funny looking hats. and it's happening on the street just below where i'm staying! how exciting. in fact, today when i was at the wan chai computer centre they blocked off the front door and i thought we were gonna have to climb out the window to leave the building! but security opened the back door. soo.. no fun. =(

well hong kong is rather fun. my dad's apartment is SOOO beautiful. i can't get over it. it's like... so nice. the lounge room is massive and everything is just soo... nice! i've been shopping a bit.. mostly by myself =( haha. but i'm sure i'll do more! oo! i bought a really pretty silk purple skirt. that was fun. and i got speakers! they're logitech and there's a sub too. how fun.

hopefully i'll get to meet up with tori soon and go to DISNEYLAND! i can't wait. =D and also grace and stef and anna and whoever else is in hong kong. =)

in other news... results are all out now and i'm feeling rather.. okay about it. now anyway. i shocked myself a bit - goodly and badly. i know i should be very happy but part of me is saying "you should have done better" u know? probably not. well.. i think i just have too much pride. i hate pride. i wish it would leave and never come back! hhahah i love gollum.

anyway.. time to go. please comment if you're reading this! i like knowing who reads my silly blog.

how do you say bye in cantonese? hm... i'm terrible at this language. i'm still scared by shop people talking to me in chinese expecting me to understand what they're saying. i just stare and say "errrr... sorry?" anyway.. bye!

Friday, December 16

so, so sleepy

well.. it's 4am and i'm still awake. i haven't actually done this since schoolies. and it's not just because the results are coming out in two hours. the main reason is that i had to go back to the house with my mum to completely get rid of everything that was inside. (now we have a massive chunk of a pile of rubbish bags. hahha its pretty funny if u just look at it. i didn't have my camera so i unfortunately couldn't capture the moment) and cos my mum doesn't like night driving and cos she was a tad stressed out, i drove. there and back again. got back at like 3. what a night. and now i'm still awake trying to finish my hk packing. YES, that's right - more packing. when will it end???

Thursday, December 15

packing is my unfavourite past-time

why am i ALWAYS packing? someone please tell me because i would very much like to know. *sigh*
my mum is back in the house trying to figure out what to do with all that... stuf left in it. probably throw it all away. we have WAY too much rubbish... dunno what we're gonna do with it all.

well after finishing packing for my apartment i now have to pack yet AGAIN to go to hk/china/malaysia/singapore. mannnnn i have to pack for at least THREE different climates! how hectic. haha. my suitcase is like basically almost full and i'm meant to leave space for shopping! grrr.. and i just realised i have a shortage of shoes. so that's gonna be the first thing i shop for when i get to hk. yay shopping! i hope i have enough money to last me the whole five weeks.. =S

hsc results tomorrow. my phone is going to wake me up at nine am. how wonderful...NOT.
and i had to miss seeing king kong tonight. =( but i'll get to see everything i like in hong kong! except the subtitles are gay. meh.

you may or may not hear from me again soon.

Wednesday, December 14

go kimoon! =D

haha kimoon rocks. ain't the right oon? better than ceejul anyway. =P heheh just kidding. although our name is a lot more prettiful, that's for sure. hahah..

anyways.. i changed the video to michelle branch - goodbye to you a while back. i love this song! it's one of the few songs i can still play on guitar without having to look at chords. it's like the first song i learnt on the guitar too i think. it's just so easy to play! haha... brings back memories of digjc camp 03. ahhhh i love memories.

well tonight was speech night. and i'm very, very, extremely tired. so i won't stay for long. i was in the city from about 11:30am but realised they didn't need singers till 2pm. so i went with alanna and nicky to shop for some black pants. which we didn't find. rehearsal went by, and i couldn't go with oonis and uel to see cj off at the airport cos i was still rehearsing in town hall. =( bye chaunji! i'll see u in malaysia! heheee.

anyway.. speech night was alright. the music wasn't up to scratch, i thought. cos it's usually pretty good. this time it wasn't so great because we the pieces weren't rehearsed that much. oh well. i got to do a solo - one line! it was great. hahah got to stand at the front with the seven other soloists with microphones on stands and everything.

oh and the last part was just the FUNNIEST. the last song was "zadok the priest". alanna was on my left and there was noone on my right. okay the song is like by handel and its one of those full choral, "hallelujah, hallelujah..." pieces. and there are these parts that just go "ah ah ah ah ah ah" with quaver rests in between. and they're all different notes. and we couldn't sing them properly at all (mostly alanna =P) so i fully cracked up laughing. oh my gosh i tried to stop.. like look away from alanna and look all serious. but i couldn't. i was like giggling.. oh it was so bad. speech night is a terribly serious and formal occasion. so it would've just looked SO out of place for us to be laughing during a song. but funny at the same time. =)

then when we finished the song. some of the guys on the other side of the stage were moving off, so me and alanna went off. but we HAD to cos we were laughing so hard. so some of the girls followed us off and apparently we were meant to stay on. but oh well. as soon as we got backstage, we burst out in laughter and tears... ohhhhh good times.

anyway i've rambled for too long now. goodnight!

verse of the week

When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet.
psalm 8:3-6

reminiscing..

how sad. no more growth group. =(
although, we did have fun tonight. what with all the fruit of the spirit and hearts made by kanella's "hot" friend suzanne and all the taboo-ness and sing-a-longs
and screaming and more bad singing. i wanna be.. BEE in the light! as you are in the light. i wanna shine.. SHINE like the stars in the heavensss...haha.
ahhh... i'm gonna miss days like this.

at pymble uniting church one friday night:
winter 'ignite' camp - the year 12s:
eunice looking like she's about to cry:but i'm sure there'll be more of....
burnt garlic bread:

deep and meaningfuls at the park:
naughty moments such as this: or fun games of which i do not comprehend:*sigh*
i'll try not to miss it tooo much.

the family '05
what a name. what a growth group. what a year.hahahahhaha. =)
"Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing in the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you ahve suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast."
[1 Peter 5:9-10]

i love all of you! heehee. no but seriously.

"beat up kim day"

i think it's about time for me to have a little rant.
[please note this is probably highly exaggerated and biased, rather than what actually happened.. possibly due to my current mood.]
i've been a bit whingy today. argh. ok, terribly whingy. i'm just sick of things not done my way. and i think that the weather being so HOT and humid lately has just escalated my moodiness. haha i'm so easily annoyed. everything is just getting on my nerves. when people yell at me and scold me for no apparent reason.. it's just not nice.
lalalalaaa.. i could go on forever. but i won't cos i'm tired and grumpy and noone wants to hear the whinge of a 17-year-old. i'm sure there'll be many more rants to come anyway.

my throat is dry. time to drink some water.
mmm.. my head hurts. i think i'll just go read and then sleep. it's about time i start sleeping earlier anyway.

nighty night.
a swampy kim.

i think it's the second definition that relates more to my current state than the first.
hmm.. imponderables. i like that word. don't you?

ps. congrats on getting your P's uel! =)

the mighty, mighty poscas

yayyyy! emily got me the bestest-estest "i've been to singapore/christmas" present! AN ENTIRE 7-PIECE BOX SET OF GLITTER POSCAS!!! (pictured right) its absolutely rad. comes with all the colours.... i love it so much hehe. they're so colourful and glittery and special and ahhh so beautiful.
THANK YOU EM! xxx

okay moving on. the last few days for me have been made up of reluctantly waking up before midday so i can get back to gordon and pack (yes i know. we're the slowest packers EVER to walk this earth). and my nights have been spent struggling to cook myself dinner and watching a couple of movies as compensation for the food. haha.

here are my thoughts...

SIN CITY
saw this last night. it's like so disgustingly grossed out. it freaked me out, basically. it's like all black and white, except for some people's eyes, blood and in some cases, a person's whole body. ergh.. its so groooossss. yuck. so violent. and ewww. quite disturbing. i don't want to think about it anymore.

MADAGASCAR
i've seen it before but we got it cos my brother hadn't seen it yet. its so FUNNY! hehehh.. i'm such a kid. "let's welcome the giant pansies!" HAHAHHAH. oh it makes me laugh. and the cute little lemur! awwww... she/he's so cute! i love the lemurs. so comical. and weird. and scared of the foosas. hahahhaa. ok..

THE CALCIUM KID
orlando bloom! muahahahha. it was only a dollar to rent though! it was kinda interesting. very english accents. i'm not sure from which part they are but anyway. go the milkman!

CURSE OF THE RING (otherwise known as RING OF THE NIBELUNGS)
incredibly similar to most other "epic fantasy/mythology" shows. it's actually one of those mini-series they show on tv over two nights. it's okay. funny though.. or maybe i just make it funny. haha, probably. it's based on this nordic myth/tale that "inspired" lord of the rings - which is why i wanted to see it haha. oh oh! and u know who's in it? CEDRIC! aka robert pattinson. i kept calling him cedric the whole way through. and he definitely had many more lines in it than he did in harry potter. hm.

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
i saw this at the cinemas with my mum last week and i liked it! quite a lot actually. enough to make me WANT to read the book. it was so sweeet between elizabeth and mr darcy. that mr collins guy is so weird. like seriously, why would u want to marry your cousin? and he's just so odd. why is he even in the book? i suppose i'll have to read it to find out. i found the movie a bit slow..ish. but maybe i was just tired that night. those seats in hoyts at mandarin centre are very uncomfortable. remind me not to go there to watch movies unless utterly necessary.

and i think that's all the words i can muster tonight.

a big YAY for everyone who's finished school and a hoorah for those who have yet to finish. and for everyone who's already on holiday overseas or somewhere exotic.....yay too!

um, yes.
kimmmmm. xox

new video of the moment: faithless - i want more.
how cool are the mass games? except that they're all doing it in the name of that north korean kim jong guy. is that him? it's pretty scary that these kids are made to believe (or brainwashed) that what they're doing is right. how very, very sad. i saw a documentary on it the other week on abc. hehe it was interesting! anyway how awesome is the rhythmics? i wish i could still do those things.. *sigh* now my back is screwed i probably will never be able to. =( oh well. i have my memories.
ok that's weird. it like goes into a totally random video clip after it finishes. hahaha.

Sunday, December 4

my precioussss..

yay! lord of the rings is australia's favourite film! =D i feel so happy.

have a look at the full top 100. it's pretty interesting. i was surprised with like half of the top 10:
  1. the lord of the rings trilogy - YAYYYY!!!! all u people u've never seen it - WATCH IT NOW! and if u have seen it - watch it again!
  2. amelie - i didn't even think of this movie, probably cos i haven't seen it.
  3. blade runner - maybe i should watch it..
  4. the shawshank redemption - it was a good movie.. but really.. top four?
  5. donnie darko - i like this.. sort of. but it's just so WEIRD! oh and frank scares me to death.
  6. star wars: a new hope - not surprised at all.
  7. pulp fiction - should probably see this too...
  8. the princess bride - HAHHAHHA i was actually very shocked when they announced this one. but yay it's so funny.
  9. gone with the wind - emily's favourite book(/movie?). another one to watch. *sigh*
  10. fight club - hmm... another to add to my list of movies to watch. looks voilent. apparently brad pitt's best ever performance. mmm...
and then yeh, the other ninety. and to my amazement, i've actually seen some of them. and like some of them. haha. liiike... sound of music, american beauty, monty python's life of brian, the matrix, singin' in the rain, moulin rouge, dead poet's society, forrrrest gump, monty python and the holy grail (yay), pirates of the carribean =D, spirited away (haha it was actually quite interesting, i liked it), the fifth element (go the opera scene)..... and a few more.

yep.... well. that was enough movies for one day.

ess what are u doing still reading this?? go watch lotr!!!!

ttfn..
kimpossible (oh..that's another movie i need to watch.)

yay 20 posts!

new VIDEO OF THE MOMENT: the veronicas - 4ever
just cos... it's so catchy and will probably get annoying just like all the previous ones. =)

constant viligance!

wow i haven't blogged in aaaages. so i guess i should start again. it was kinda fun! but.. now maybe it's lost its thrill... nahhhh i'm sure it hasn't, i've probably just gotten lazier. if that's possible. i'm not entirely in the mood to sit here and type anything and everything that comes to my head, but i'll try.

so today i went to see
harry potter at 9:30am. (the first screening in australia! i think..) i was really excited.. and i suppose i was fairly satisfied.. although they left out like wayyy to much stuff. i would rather sit there for three and a half hours and watch as much of the book as could fit in a three and a half hour movie than watch an extremely fast-paced movie in which most of the characters are spitting out their words just so they can move on to the next scene as quickly as possible.

hahahh that was really
harsh. i actually really liked it. in fact, i would probably say it's the best of all the harry potter movies. definitely, actually. it's the most exciting. and it's actually a bit thrillerish. so i got to jump and scream a bit. haha. and it's also quite sad. although i only had like a couple of tears on my eyes. but yehh.... i love harry potter.... hehehhhh it's true! well actually, i love snape and lucius more. they rock. =D

mmmm what else can i say about the movie? oh yeh.. i started reading the fourth book a
few weeks ago and kinda forgot about it cos i was moving and stuf. and i just realised yesterday that i had like one day to finish it before i see the movie. so i tried to read it all but only got up to when they arrive at hogwarts... hahah the triwizard tournament hadn't even started yet. oh well. but then when i was watching the movie today i was kinda regretting that i had read even a bit of it so recently because they had taken out so much of the book!

sooo... i think the
MORAL of this post is:
if you're going to watch
harry potter and the goblet of fire anytime soon and feel like reading the book before u watch it - DON'T. read it AFTER! trust me. u'll thank me. hahahh okay well that's just what i wished i did. cos i was picking on tiny, tiny things that they changed from the book to the movie.

and.. meh. that's it. i'm done.

lovv
kimmm.....possibly!

new
VIDEO OF THE MOMENT: backstreet boys - as long as you love me.
a tribute to the two random miming asians and ess (my blog buddy). =)
hehehe... whats his face almost looks like draco. HAHAHHA
